Yod in a birth chart

What it is

A yod is two planets 60 degrees apart (a sextile), both sitting 150 degrees from a third planet (quincunx). Those two quincunxes and the one sextile close the figure. The third planet is the apex.

Astrologers nickname this the Finger of God. The nickname is older copy, not a verdict.

What it is not

A random quincunx, or a triangle that is actually a T-square, is not a yod. The calculator only flags the full three-point figure: one sextile plus two quincunxes.

How to read one

The sextile pair is the skill set that does not quite reach the apex planet. The quincunxes are the adjustment. People often feel this as a task they cannot ignore and cannot solve by pushing harder on one planet alone.
