Aspect patterns in a birth chart
A natal chart is a map of planets at the moment you were born. An aspect is an angle between two of them. An aspect pattern is what happens when three or more of those angles lock into a named shape.
House 9 lists the same figures the free calculator and the app use. The words on these pages are the words that show up under Patterns when a chart actually has the figure.
What House 9 looks for
The free calculator uses the same Placidus chart as the House 9 app. It flags stelliums and aspect figures first (yod, T-square, grand trine, kite, grand cross), then Jones distribution shapes such as bundle or splash.
Those Jones shapes are about how planets sit around the wheel, not a closed triangle of aspects. A splash or a bundle is a spread, not a stellium or a grand trine.
How to use this
Read the pattern pages if a name is new. Then cast a chart and see what actually shows up. Most charts have none of the famous figures. That is ordinary, not a missing destiny.
Stellium in a birth chart
A stellium is three or more planets in the same sign, linked by conjunction. See how House 9 flags it, then cast a free natal chart.
Yod in a birth chart
A yod is two planets in sextile, both quincunx a third. See the figure House 9 shows, then cast a free natal chart.
T-square in a birth chart
A T-square is an opposition with both ends squared by a third planet. See it on a House 9 chart, then cast yours free.
Grand trine in a birth chart
A grand trine is three planets, each trine the other two. See how House 9 flags it, then cast a free natal chart.
House 9 is a morning practice. See the sky against this chart, set an intention, and write with companion journaling.
